Organic waste is treated sustainably, the negative impacts are limited. This approach is part of an industrial approach of the circular economy within the territories to contribute to more sustainable agrifood systems.

Businesses must protect the communities in which they operate. At IZIproteine, we are aware of the need to do better, to contribute to the goal of a better future for all. That's why the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are embedded in the ADN of the company and in everything we do. We postulate that insect breeding and products derived from it can directly address eight of the seventeen SDG and indirectly support the rest.

Bioconversion by the insect
We use the larvae of the fly Hermetia illucens, or Black Soldier Fly, to enhance and bioconvert organic co-products.
Processing into finished products
The insects are transformed into end products by natural processes that do not use any chemical additives.

Our larvae bioconvert organic co-products into quality protein and oil that serve as sustainable
alternatives to products used in animal feed. The residue from breeding is also a quality organic fertilizer
that can be used in organic farming.

IZIPROTEINE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
- IZIproteine is a new start-up in the region of industrial biowaste recovery using bioconversion technology This innovative process represents an original form of food recycling and offers an alternative to “energy” recovery (incineration or methanization) and to “organic recovery” »(Composting). This approach is part of an industrial approach of the circular economy within the territories to contribute to more sustainable agrifood systems.
- The IZIproteine company plans to set up on a new site to develop the industrial phase of its innovative project for the treatment of bio-food waste. Following a period of research and development, the company now wishes to move to a new, more suitable building in order to develop its activity and move on to the industrial phase.
- Thus, this file constitutes the grant application for a project of an insect biorefinery to contribute to more sustainable agrifood systems, a classified facility established in accordance with the Environmental Code.
